Dans 10 jours aura lieu le Macroom Food Festival . J'en profite pour faire la promotion de notre petite ville.

5.00pm Official Opening at The Castle Hotel
FOOD DEMOS: Learn how food products are actually made the traditional way!
6.00pm at the Castle Hotel: Jams & Chutneys with Follain Teo
7.30pm at Fr. Ryan Hall: Fabulous Fish Cookery Demo with Clancy’s Fresh Fish
8.30pm at No. 57 Gourmet Kitchen: Cake Decorating for beginners with Ellen O’Leary
4pm-8pm at The Auld Triangle: Mrs. Doyles Afternoon & High Tea (Booking essential. Contact Phil on 0862211402)
From 10pm at The Riverside Park: late night music lounge – enjoy Italian style nibbles and wine while listening to live lounge music and a club vibe til late. Shuttles from town square at 9.30pm, 10 & 10.30pm. Return shuttle at 12.30pm & 1.00am.

11am at Fr. Ryan Hall: Delicious Chocolate Demonstration with Milsean Chocolates
2pm at Fr. Ryan Hall: Healthy Lunchboxes with Lucy Hyland of Food For Living
4pm at Church Lane Restaurant: Bake Your Own Bread with Conall Breheny
1pm Fruit & Vegetable themed Fancy Dress meet at the GAA car park at 1pm for judging followed by a parade to the Briery Gap for presentation of prizes on stage before the Puppet Show
12.00 noon – 5pm BUSKING COMPETITION Buskers will entertain passers-by on the streets of Macroom, throughout the day, while competing for the Macroom Busker of the year competition 2013.
6pm at the Castle Hotel: Busking competition prize giving ceremony. More details…

2pm at the Briery Gap: Puppet Show €2
TASTE TRAIL €2
• Sample a range of local artisan foods served up by the actual producers themselves! From 12pm – 6pm at cafes, restaurants and shops and from 7pm – 9pm at participating pubs. Look out for the taste trail signs and balloons More details…
3.00pm Macroom Food Festival CALOR Schools Cook-Off SEMI-FINAL
A showcase of the artistic and creative talent of post primary school students. In teams of two, students will create an innovative recipe to prepare and cook on gas in the open air on the Square, Macroom. Cook-Off judges will taste each dish and choose finalists to compete in final of the Cook-Off on Sunday at 3pm. Students or teachers interested in participating should download an application form or contact Caroline O’Connellto discuss their application.
8.00pm CHEESE & WINE TASTING at The Castle Hotel
• Enjoy a range of local Irish speciality cheeses combined with fine wines from around the world.
LIVE MUSIC : 9pm – 12pm : In a number of local pubs throughout Macroom town.

FOOD MARKET / MUSIC / KIDS AREA : 11am – 6pm :
Location: In the market square, Macroom
ARTISAN FOOD MARKET from 11am – 6pm
• Tickle your taste buds at over 60 fabulous local artisan food stalls!
• There will be a diverse range of local Irish fresh hot and cold food, drink and craft producers on display, all presenting a wonderful selection of tastes and aromas.
• A true showcase for the finest artisan foods Cork has to offer, it offers visitors an unparalleled food shopping experience with over 60 Artisan Food Producers. The food market stalls are run by the producers themselves which provides a unique opportunity for visitors to learn first-hand about the products on offer and how best to prepare them!
• Location: Main Square, Macroom.
• Entry: FREE. ( Note: Stall owners will be selling their food produce from their stalls )
KIDS ZONE from 11am – 6pm
• Enjoy the merry go round carousel, face painting, jugglers & stilt walkers!
• Location: The Square Macroom.
• Entry: FREE
( Note: Parents/Guardians will be expected to remain with their children while attending the play areas with their children ).
STREET ENTERTAINMENT & MUSIC
• Location: The Square Macroom.
• Entry: FREE.
3pm Macroom Food Festival CALOR Schools Cook-Off FINAL Cooking on gas in the open air…come watch the finalists battle it out for top prize with their innovative local and delicious dishes. The winners of the Schools Cook-Off will each receive an iPad and the Macroom Food Festival Cook-Off champion trophy to display with pride in their school.

Sympa Chaudoudoux, mais trop loin pr nous dommage.
En parlant de concours culinaire, cette semaine a mon boulot y'a une competition entre plusieurs managers : chaque manager a donne une recette aux cuisiniers de la cantine, qui vont la preparer, et ensuite les managers seront derriere les presentoirs, ils devront servir le personnel (nous quoi), avec leur recette. Y'a 3 recettes par jour (donc 3 managers) et c'est renouvele 3 fois donc 9 managers en competition au total. Et celui qui servira le + de son plat gagnera. C'est rigolo je trouve. J'ai hate de voir quelles recettes ils ont choisies. (On s'amuse bien dans les societes americaines )
